Yakov Trakhtman, of North Brunswick, passed away peacefully on March 30th at his home in North Brunswick at the age of 76. His American name was Jake, a name he used in his beloved new homeland after arriving here from Moldova in May of 1980.
He was born in Storozhynets Ukraine. He was self employed for over 30 years at Jake's TV Service, retiring in 2011. He liked collecting art. He enjoyed nature and animals. He loved music and dancing. Jake was a world traveler and especially attracted to sunny destinations. He has been on over 65 cruises all over the world.
Surviving is his beloved wife, Larisa Trakhtman; his son and daughter in-law Seva Trakhtman and Andrea Bellavia of Bridgewater, NJ; his loving grandchildren Logan and Stella; and his sister Galina Cohen of Israel.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday April 2nd at 11:00 am at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 North Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. Burial will follow at Beth Abraham Cemetery in East Brunswick.
