William A. Tallman, formerly of Milltown, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023 at his home in Monroe Twp. He was 83. Born and raised in New Brunswick, he graduated from St. Peter’s High School. He lived in North Brunswick before moving to Milltown where he lived for 48 years. Most recently he enjoyed living in Englewood Florida and Monroe Township.
He was a salesman for High Grade Beverage in Monmouth Junction, retiring in 2001. He was recognized as top salesman several times during his 32 years at High Grade and always gave his customers special attention.
He loved meeting people and breaking the ice between strangers. He was quick with a joke or a handshake and was truly interested in other people’s adventures. He was a life member of both the BPO Elks and the Moose Lodge.
Bill loved golf and worked part-time at local golf courses after retiring. His greatest joy was his family and his undying love for his wife Peg. Together they had 3 sons, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Bill spent his life on earth laughing, traveling and watching NY Giants football games. He was a season ticket holder for over 50 years and travelled to away games and attended several Super Bowls with his sons in-tow.
He's predeceased by his parents William D. and Veronica (Darragh)Tallman and his daughter-in-law Michele (Plantz) Tallman (d. 2021).
Surviving is his wife of almost 62 Years (October) Marguerite (Genco) Tallman; his sons William Tallman of Jackson, Kenneth Tallman of Monroe Twp. and Christopher and his wife Elizabeth Tallman of Park Ridge; his brother Robert and his wife JoJo Tallman of Monroe Twp.; his six grandchildren Major William Tallman (USAF) and wife Stacey of O’Fallon IL, Keri Lynn of Jackson, Nicole and husband Scott Dinin of Sherrills Ford NC, Jessica of Albany NY, Daniel of Tokyo Japan and Catherine of Park Ridge; and his great grandson William (Beau) Tallman of O’Fallon IL.
Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, September 28th, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A Mass will be held on Friday, 11:30 am at St. Bartholomew RC Church, Ryders Lane in East Brunswick. Cremation will be private.
