William A. Burlew, of Edison, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Embassy Manor in Edison. He was 83. Born and raised in Milltown, he lived in North Carolina before moving to Edison in 1977.
Bill was a foreman for NJ Aluminum in New Brunswick for over 30 years, before retiring. He spend many years volunteering his time to the Edison Angels Softball League. He was a fan of the Yankees, Giants and Rutgers. He also was a member of the Sons of Milltown. He loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
He's predeceased by his wife Shirley (Davis) Burlew (d. 1995); his brother Frank Burlew and his sister Louise Koch.
Surviving are his six children, his sons Ronald Kale of Bayville and Bill (Tracey) Burlew of Somerville; his daughters Jackie (Peter) Fresco and Terri (Thomas) Kaufman both of Edison, Sue Burlew of Loveland, CO and Chrissy (Jeff) Martinez of Edison; his brother Ray Berlew of Florida and Hank Burlew of Georgia; 10 grandchildren – Ron, Kyle, Nicole, Peter John, Britney, Melissa, Tiffany, Christopher, Landon and Jeffrie; and 14 great grandchildren – Haley, Logan, Hunter, Jonathan, Reiley, Autumn, Elliana, Briella, Dillon, Ava, Maverick, Anthony, Madelyn and Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews
Friends and relatives may call on Sunday, November 14th, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A funeral service and burial at Van Liew Cemetery will be private on Monday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association, www.lbda.org .
