William Bongiovanni passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Somerset Woods Rehab and Nursing Center. He was 98. Born in Clymer, PA, he lived in North Brunswick most of his life.
He was a US Army Veteran of WWII, serving proudly in both Europe and Japan. He was a Sgt. in the 365th Field Artillery, 97th Infantry Division. He was a lifetime member of both the VFW and the American Legion.
Before retiring, Bill worked for ER Squibb & Sons for 35 years.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary (Ruperto) Bongiovanni (d. 1991), his son James Bongiovanni (d. 2008), his daughter in law, Antonina (Ranieri) Bongiovanni (d. 2011) and his cousin Kathi Kovach (d. 2005).
He is survived by his four cousins: Alex Berta and his wife Marit, of Mesa, AZ, Fred Berta, and his wife Phyllis of Cornelius, NC, Eugene Berta of Edison, and Maria Soos, and her husband Laszlo of Milford, NJ.
A visitation for friends and relatives will be held on Monday, December 31st, from 9:00 am – 10:00 am, at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A Funeral Mass will follow, 10:30 am, at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin RC Church in New Brunswick. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick.
