Wendelyn Anna Trent Barbely

Wendelyn Anna (Trent) Barbely, passed away from cancer on August 12, 2020, at Lexington Hospital in Lexington, SC. She was 51.

Born in New Brunswick to Sgt Dorsey L. Trent and Joan (Hoelzer) Trent, she grew up in South Brunswick. She lived in Milltown and Jamesburg, before moving to Manning, South Carolina 4 years ago.

Wendy married the love of her life, Robert Barbely of Milltown, on June 29, 1996. She had previously been married to John Hammond of Princeton.
She went to St Paul's School of Princeton, Notre Dame High School and graduated from South Brunswick High School. She also attended Mercer County College.

During her teenage years she graduated from Barbizon Modeling School, modeling for several shows and did several Pageants in NYC & Atlantic City. She had her horse "Stormy" riding with 4-H Riding Club, and Skated Competition Roller Skating Club in Kendall Park.

Wendy worked at the family business, Milltown Ice Cream Depot and Continental Pools in Milltown, Dr. Kastuar, Stearn Brothers and Buzzy's Carpet as a bookkeeper. She was also a secretary for Dance Stop and was a devoted "Dance Mom" for 10 years.

She was a past member of the Milltown Rescue Squad and past President of American Legion Post 401 Auxiliary,

Growing up she was a Member of Miller Memorial Church in Monmouth Jct. and very involved with the Youth Group. Later after marrying Robert, she was a member of East Brunswick Assembly of God. She continued serving the Lord when she moved to Manning, South Carolina.

She's predeceased by her father Dorsey L. Trent and her grandparents Robert and Joan Hoelzer and Lewis and Anna Trent.

Surviving is her beloved husband Robert Barbely, her son and daughter-in-law, Michael R. and Lauren (Redler) Hammond of Lawrence, her daughter Patricia Lynn Barbely of Manning, SC, and her fiancé Pierce Hammen; her beloved grandson Cillian Hammond, her mother Joan (Hoelzer) Trent of Monroe Twp., her brother Dorsey Lee Trent, Jr. of South Brunswick, nephews Nicholas and Vincent and niece Arianna Trent, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also missed by her canine companions Tucker and Sandy.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Jamesburg, 175 Gatzmer Avenue, Jamesburg, on Sunday, January 10th , at 2 p.m. Church is open with every other seat and Masks are required. Please use the side door of parking lot. The Dr. Rev Gary Filson and Rev John Maltby will officiate. Also will be live on Facebook: Stream JPresbyChurch or YouTube: Jamesburg Presbyterian Church.
