Thomas Padhi

Dr. Thomas Padhi passed away on November 30th, 2022, with his family beside him. Born in Odisha, India, he came to the United States in 1963 and became a citizen in 1978, raising a family in East Brunswick. Studying for his veterinary license, he earned doctorates at the University of Maryland and the University of Massachusetts, where he met Sally, his beloved wife of 52 years. Dr. Padhi owned and practiced medicine at the Amboy Avenue Veterinary Hospital in Metuchen for 28 years, continuing to work until 2015.

In addition to raising a family and practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Padhi was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and involved in Calvary Gospel Church of East Brunswick and Grace Alliance Church of Piscataway. He played central roles in his extended family from India, as well as in his wife's family from Connecticut, and he was also highly involved in the lives of his veterinary staff and clients. He reveled in deep study of the Bible, spending hours daily reading and meditating on God's word and excitedly telling others about what he was learning. He also enjoyed reading and studying other topics like veterinary medicine and current events, frequently sharing remarkable insights. Additionally, Dr. Padhi was a life-long sports enthusiast, particularly in his favorite game of tennis.

Thomas Padhi is survived by his loving wife Sally, his children Michael Padhi (Meghan) of Monrovia, Maryland; Stephen Padhi (Karla) of Honolulu, Hawaii; and Linda Woodland (Francisco) of Sterling, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Anna, Elizabeth, and Gabriel Padhi; Daniella Rothwell and Daniel Padhi; and Diego and Veronica Woodland.

A Visitation will be held for friends and family on Monday December 5th, 2022, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N. Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown, NJ 08850.
