Theresa N. Massaro

January 4, 1929 — November 6, 2017

Theresa Nardi Massaro passed away peacefully on November 6, 2017 at Parker of Monroe – a long term living community in Monroe Township. Born in Brooklyn, New York to Santina and Joseph Nardi, Theresa was the youngest of 4 sisters. She married Felix (Phil)Massaro in 1949 and resided in Queens and Staten Island before moving to Milltown in 1973.
While living in Staten Island, Terry worked as an executive secretary for Chemical bank in New York City. Terry and Phil were members of the Richmond County Country Club. They were avid golfers and Terry was very active in many social and fund raising events.
Upon her move to Milltown, she settled into suburban life by gardening, playing and hosting bridge parties, playing tennis, hosting dinner parties and of course, golfing. Terry loved the opera and traveling. She especially loved her toy poodle Buttons and had several cockatiels and parakeets she cared for during her lifetime.
Terry was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Milltown. She was a member of the Women's League at Tamarack Golf Club in East Brunswick for many years and served as president for the 18 Hole Women's Golf Association for several years. Terry also served on the Executive Board of JFK Hospital Women's Auxiliary and was a member of the Milltown Senior Citizens Bridge Club.
Terry is predeceased by her husband Phil (d. 2013) her 2 sisters Ann Johnsen and Doryce Rotolo and a niece Debra Rotolo. Surviving are her sister Rose Ruocco of Manhattan, N.Y., her brother- in -law Edward Johnsen of Monroe Township, N.J., her sister- in- law Mary Massaro of Columbus, N.J. and several nieces and a nephew.
Friends and relatives may call on Saturday, November 11th, from 9:30 – 10:30 am, at The Crabiel Funeral Home 170 No. Main Street – at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A Blessing will be held at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Entombment will be immediately following at the Holy Cross Burial Park in Jamesburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Milltown Rescue Squad, POB 308, Milltown, N.J. 08850. You may sign the online "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com
