Sylvia Chiappetta

May 11, 1937 — September 15, 2020

Sylvia Chiappetta, of North Brunswick, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro. She was 83.

Born in Messina, Italy, she came to the United States in 1950. She resided in NYC and New Brunswick before moving to North Brunswick 61 years ago.

Sylvia was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Virgin RC Church in New Brunswick. She was a member of the PTA at St. Mary's School and the Italian American Woman's Auxiliary in North Brunswick.

She loved her children very much and enjoyed visiting relatives in Canada.

Surviving are her sons Samuel Chiappetta and his wife Stefanie of Middleboro, MA, Rocco Chiappetta and his wife Sila of Sacramento, CA, and John Chiappetta of North Brunswick; her beloved grandchildren Andrew, Annemarie, Gianna, Julianna ; and her sister Grace Scheppis of Franklin.

Sylvia loved her two best friends, Charolette Chiappetta and Beatrice Pulieo. In fact, Sylvia loved all the Pulieos.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 19th, 10:00 am, at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Remsen Ave., New Brunswick. Entombment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown.
