Shamji P Patel

Shami Premji Patel, of Matawan, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at home. He was 93 years old.

Born in Piparia, Gujarat India, he and his late wife were farmers before coming to the Matawan in 1996.

He loved gardening, animals and horseback riding. He enjoyed going to the Old Bridge Senior Citizens Center and was an award-winning senior billiards player.

He is predeceased by his wife Ziveben Patel (d. 2019), his parents and siblings.

Surviving are his sons and daughter-in-laws Devraj and Kailash Diora, Ramesh and Kokila Diora and Suresh and Parul Diora, all of Old Bridge; his daughter and son-in-law Bhavna and Nitin Patel of Elgin IL; and her eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Pooja services and visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th, from 10:00 – 12:00 pm at Holy Cross Crematory, Cranbury & South River Rd., East Brunswick (Jamesburg).
