Saroj Verma was born on May 30, 1947 to Prakash Wati Saigal and Wazir Chand Saigal in New Delhi, India. She was the fourth of five children.
Saroj married Vinod Verma in 1975 and she played a wonderful role as a wife for 42 years. She was a very loving mother and taking care of her family meant everything to her. She is survived by her husband, Vinod Verma; two children: Gaurav Verma and Neha Arya; their spouses: Navjot Kaur and Chirag Arya and two most loving granddaughters Simran Arya and Amaya Arya.
Saroj's finest qualities were her hospitable nature, unshakable will power and the ability to remain cheerful at all times despite adverse health conditions. During her life she faced many obstacles which she always handled with grace, courage and positivity. She was an independent woman and lived her life to the fullest. Saroj had many hobbies, some of which included cooking delicious Indian delicacies, travelling, buying lottery tickets, praying daily, watching The Wheel of Fortune, and Indian shows.
Saroj moved to Dubai after her marriage where she spent 19 years making wonderful memories with her family and friends. She moved to the U.S with her family to provide a better educational opportunity to her children. She not only raised her own children, but also played a huge part in the upbringing of her nieces and nephews: Avinash, Ritesh, Mayur, Vandana, Gagan, Shobha, Nupur, Aditi and Kaushal. Additionally, she played a crucial role in raising her granddaughter Simran and always called her "my best friend".
She will always be remembered and missed by her family, including her brothers: Jagdish Chand Saigal, Satish Chand Saigal and Sudhir Chand Saigal and her sister Bina Khanna along with their respective spouses Abha Saigal, Shashi Saigal, Poonam Saigal and Arjun Khanna; her brother-in-law Mukesh Verma, and wife Savita Verma.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 9:00 - 11:00 am at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. www.crabiel.com
