Roy W. Pierce Jr., of the Sewaren section of Woodbridge, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at JFK Hartwycke Cedar Brook Park Avenue Care Center in Plainfield. He was 77.
Born in Jersey City, he was raised in Bergenfield, where he was in the Boy Scouts. He played the trumpet in the Bergenfield High School Marching Band and performed in the Macy's Day Parade. He also was an all star pitcher for the Bergenfield P.A.L. and Little League.
Roy was a trucker for most of his life. He worked for Sunoco Sun Oil in Piscataway for 25 years. Most recently he worked for ADS Trucking in Rahway.
Roy loved Harley motorcycles and was a member of the HOG Association Jersey Shore Chapter He enjoyed NASCAR races and the NY Giants, Yankees and Mets.
He's predeceased by his parents Alma and Roy W. Pierce, Sr.
Surviving is his wife Dawn (Corrente) Pierce; his sister Karen Breny of New Milford, NJ, his daughter Lisa Hayden of Dingham's Ferry, PA; three grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many brother & sister-in-laws, and nieces and nephews. He's also survived by his Booboo and Baby Girl.
Friends and relatives may call on Saturday, August 21st, from 11:00 – 3:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A Funeral Service will be held during the visitation at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, www.stjude.org.
