Ronald A. Dreger

The road of life came to an end for Ronald A. Dreger with his passing at age 79, on Wednesday, July 21st, 2021.

He was raised in South River NJ, attended South River public schools and graduated from South River High School. He received his higher education in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Finance & Commerce. He graduated in 1964 with a BS in economics.

Mr. Dreger was a commissioned officer in the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Eustis, Virginia, Brooklyn Army Terminal and the Republic of South Korea, where he served as both a company and base commander.

Following his military service, he held positions in management with Burroughs Corporation and Pennwalt Corporation. IN 1976 he joined his brother as co-owner of a production company which served the petrochemical industry. He served as Vice President and President of the company until his retirement in 2012.

Mr. Dreger was a parishioner of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New Brunswick. He was a member of the Lavallette Yacht Club and was a past member of the American Production and Inventory Control Society, the Milltown Jaycees, and the Milltown Committee for Community Betterment.

He was predeceased by his parents Reinhold and Mary Dreger, and his brother Richard Dreger.

Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Carol (Teuber) Dreger; his daughters Laura L. Graney and her husband John, and Christina J. Chaney and her husband Judson; and his grandchildren Lila Graney, and Colton and Vivian Chaney.

A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 27th, at 11:00 am at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. Burial will follow at Washington Monumental Cemetery in South River. Friends and relatives may call on Monday, July 26th, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
