Robert Joseph Schepise was born in South Amboy, NJ to Jack and Nancy (Weh) Schepise on November 26th, 1960.
While a toddler, Robert contracted encephalitis, which left him neurologically impaired for the duration of his life. This did not deter Robert from living a life filled with both ambition and joy. He attended The Midland School in North Branch and later graduated from the New Brunswick Vocational High School.
Robert then achieved Master Craftsman status while repairing screens at the family business, Par Aluminum, with his brother, John, and his father, Jack. Upon the closing of Par Aluminum, Robert went on to work at Goodwill and most recently, the ARC.
Robert had an active social life that included enjoying time with his lifelong companion, Diane Marinucci. Robert and Diane met at Camp Daisy at the age of 8 and continued to spend countless “date nights” at Brunswick Square Mall each week.
As a resident of the Dungarvin Group Home in North Brunswick, Robert served as the advocate for his housemates. He also did volunteer work with various organizations and was recognized by the Elks Club as their MAN OF THE YEAR 2017-2018. He met then-Governor Chris Christie and was honored at a banquet. He also served as Grand Marshall at the Elks Club annual parade held in Wildwood, NJ. His love of bowling, Pac-Man, and coffee was known to anyone Robert met.
Robert will be remembered as a loving and kind person who smiled enthusiastically and loved deeply. He made daily calls to his mother, brother, and sister and kept regular contact with his many cherished friends. He brought the true spirit of joy to every holiday gathering and never left the dance floor whenever the music played. Robert’s family is very grateful to have the memory of him enjoying the wedding of his nephew, Ryan, and his wife Ashlei, this past October.
Robert is survived by his loving mother, Mrs. Nancy Ellison of Milltown, his devoted brother John Schepise and sister-in-law, Marlene of Milltown, his loving sister Nancy Sarno and brother-in-law Gerald of Freehold, nephew Ryan Schepise (Ashlei) of Hackensack, nephew Brad Schepise (Yayoi) of Milltown, nephew Scott Remite (Katrina) of Point Pleasant and niece Amy Remite of Freehold; his longtime companion Diane Marinucci of South River as well as countless friends and family, especially Carol and Mary Jane Loehr, Jimmy, Robert, Nick, Dave, and Lisa.
