Robert A. Hewlett, of Milltown, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 72.
Born in New York City, he lived in Old Bridge and Matawan, before moving to Milltown 20 years ago.
Bob worked for the Middlesex County Board of Social Services in Perth Amboy for 32 years, retiring as Supervisor, in 2006. He was an avid reader and enjoyed hiking, nature walks, Zumba, traveling and photography. But most of all he loved being with his family and friends.
Surviving is his husband Patrick F. Reilly; his brother and sister-in-law Michael and Jacqueline Hewlett of Bridgewater; his brother Thomas Hewlett of Parlin; his sister and brother-in-law Julie and Stanton Fitzgerald of Harrisburg, Oregon; and his niece Nicole and nephew Michael.
Services are private. Contributions may be made in Robert's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, www.stjude.org .
