Robert J Beardsley

Robert J. Beardsley, of Milltown, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.  He was 76.  Born in New Brunswick, he was raised in Edison and moved to Milltown 40 years ago.

He worked as a postal carrier for the United States Post Office in Somerset, for over 30 years, retiring in 2010.

Although quiet and shy, Bob was a simple man.  Bob was an avid sports fan, he loved going and watching the NY Giants and NY Rangers with his family.  He enjoyed going to the horse races at Monmouth Park with his sons and the beach at Wildwood with his family.  He also loved a good scotch.  Bob was a dedicated and wonderful caregiver to his daughter Ali.

He’s predeceased by his parents Wallace and Viola (Gillman) Beardsley, and his brothers Floyd and William Beardsley.

Surviving is his loving wife of 41 years, Catherine Jean (Morris) Beardsley; his sons Michael Beardsley of Milltown and Jeffrey Beardsley (Chelsea) of Pocono Manor, PA; his daughters Allison Beardsley of Milltown and Tina Millis (Bobby) of Livingston Manor, NY and his grandson Matthew Millis; his sister Evelyn Crawford of Parlin, NJ; and several nieces and nephews and the extended Morris family.

Friends and relatives may call on Sunday, August 6^th, from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown.  A Funeral Blessing will be held on Monday, 10:00 am at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Brunswick.
