Richard Williams, of Milltown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Spring Hill Assisted Living in Somerset. He was 75 years old. Rich was born in Jersey City, NJ and resided there briefly until his family relocated to Milltown where he lived most of his life.
Richie worked for the Borough of Milltown and retired as Director of Public Works after 35 years of service in 2012. He was a lifelong athlete and avid Rutgers sports fan who loved attending games with friends and family. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. He loved listening to classic rock and meeting his friends, the ROMEOS, at car shows and for monthly breakfasts at Perkins. He loved his lifetime hobby of rebuilding and restoring classic corvettes. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children.
For the past few years, Richard was a resident of The Delaney at Bridgewater and Spring Hills Somerset, where he was adored and lovingly cared for by both the staff and residents.
He is predeceased by his parents Owen, “Mickey” and Filomena, “Phyllis” (Illuminato) Williams.
Surviving are his children and their spouses, Dawn and Shelli Williams of Franklin Park, and David Williams and Brandon Davis of Rahway; his brothers James Williams and wife Nancy of Indiana, and Robert Williams and his longtime companion, Gloria, of Piscataway NJ; and several nieces and nephews.
