Rhoda Friedman, of Hillsborough NJ, passed away Wednesday, June 09, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Somerville. She was 94.
Born in Bayonne, she lived in Edison and South Brunswick before moving to Hillsborough two years ago.
She owned a luncheonette in Old Bridge with her husband Charles for 15 years. Then she worked for Paley and Tucker Real Estate Investors in Edison for 20 years as a bookkeeper.
She contributed to many charities including the Jewish Federation of Monmouth and Greater Middlesex County, Disabled Veterans, Deborah Heart and Lung Center and St Jude's Hospital.
She was active in the senior citizen center in South Brunswick and was a member of the Red Hats Society. She was an avid reader and loved attending local theater group productions.
She's predeceased by her husband Charles Friedman (d. 1976) and her parents Harry and Sarah (Safrin) Greenstein.
Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Donna Friedman of Hillsborough, her daughters and son-in-laws Renay and Sheldon McCaman of North Brunswick and Debra and Keith Rand of Holland, PA; her sister Carol Verbel of Lakewood, and her five grandchildren Carla, Lauren, Daniel, Douglas and Robin and five great grandchildren Matthew, Mason, Penelope, Isabella and Mateo.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 11th, 11:30 am, at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge. Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. You may sign the online condolence "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com
