Norman Pardun Crawford, of Flemington, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 at Lyons Veterans Hospital. He was 83. Born and raised in Milltown, he lived in North Brunswick before moving to his farm in Flemington 40 years ago.
Norman served in the US Army from 1953 – 1964. He was an engineer in the Aerospace Division, for General Electric in Hightstown, for 30 years.
Norman was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Clinton. He loved raising pigs and gardening on his farm in Flemington. He collected model trains and played piano.
He's predeceased by his first wife, Ernestine Joan Crawford (d. 2003) and his second wife Cleone Marie Crawford (d. 2014). He's also predeceased by his grandson Jonathan Orme, his brother Robert C. Crawford and his sister Dorothy Davison.
Surviving are his daughters Norma Jean Cheston of Jamesburg, Belinda Emmons of Phillipsburg, Carol Orme of Arizonia and Mary Ellen Griffith of Oregon; his step-daughter Laura L. Charboneau of Flemington; his niece Joyce E. Kerns; 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday, June 8, 2017, 11:00 am, at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main Street-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. Interment will follow at Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call on Wednesday, June 7th, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org .
