Noel Poignonnec Schwendeman

Noel Poignonnec Schwendeman, of Edison, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 80.
Born in Topeka, Kansas, Noel was very proud of her Native American heritage. She raised her children in Milltown before moving to Edison in 1985.
She was a nurse for over 40 years in various hospitals. She retired from RCHP in New Brunswick.
She's predeceased by her husband William P. Poignonnec (d. 1978), her 2nd husband Arthur Burg (d. 1981), her 3rd husband Donald Schwendeman (d. 2013) and her son W. Guy Poignonnec (d. 2014).
Surviving is her daughter Penny Vitanza of Edison; her daughter-in-law Joyce Poignonnec of North Carolina; her sisters Jennie Borchard, Mary Ellen Justerson and Katie Gilpatrick, all of California; her grandchildren Garrett, Spencer and Jackie Vitanza, and William G. Poignonnec IV of North Carolina; and a great grandson William G. Poignonnec V.
A Mass will be held on Friday, March 2nd, 10:00 am, at Guardian Angel RC Church in Edison. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. You may sign the online "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com
