Nellie (Stols) Babcock, of East Brunswick, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at The Chelsea. She was 106.
Born in Paterson, she lived in Clifton before moving to East Brunswick over a year ago.
Nellie had worked for the Silk Mills Factory in Paterson, prior to raising a family. Her passion for people and zest for life were infectious. She enjoyed making people laugh with her captivating stories and left a long lasting impression on every person she met.
She's predeceased by her husband James L. Babcock (d. 1966); her sons Robert J. Babcock and James L. Babcock, Jr.; her brothers Abe, Jake and Bill Stols; and her sisters Jean, Clara, Margaret and Beatrice.
Surviving are her daughter-in-laws, Lucille Babcock of North Brunswick and Ann Babcock of North Carolina; her grandchildren Glenn, Nancy, Michael and Kristen; and 4 great grandchildren – Elizabeth, Andrew, Kenneth and Serena.
Funeral Service and interment will be Wednesday, February 28th, 11:00 am, at the Chapel at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa. Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to your favorite charity in Nellie's name. You may sign the online "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com.
