Narmadaben Patel

February 1, 1947 — July 2, 2017

Narmadaben M Patel, 70, peacefully passed away in JFK Medical Center in Edison NJ. On January 23, 1977 she married Maganbhai H Patel, who preceded her in death on November 17, 2013. She was completely devoted to the Hindu religion and overcame many obstacles in her life from the moment she immigrated to the United States in 1977. From limited financial resources, to comprehending and later mastering the English language, to a variety of health issues, there was never an excuse to provide the best possible life and home for her family. You are one of a kind and there will never be another like you.

Although small in stature, there was nothing small about her legacy. The hard labor and sacrifices she made for her family is something that will never be forgotten nor can ever be repaid and will continue to be the basis of life lessons that we all preach to our respective families and friends every single day. You seemed invincible Mom – you are the strongest woman we ever met, you never quit, you never gave up! We couldn't envision having a better mother and role model to look up to. You were never able to be care free because you always worried. Now you can rest easy finally and never worry mom. Don't ever worry any more – we're just fine and it's all because of the sacrifices you made and the example you set for us. We wouldn't have changed our upbringing for anything in the world and for that, we thank you. Now go see Dad who is waiting for you with open arms.

Survivors include her daughter Parul Patel, (Scranton high school class of '96) North Brunswick NJ, her son Shilpan Patel (Scranton high school class of '97) Chester NJ, 4 grandchildren – Aditya, Drew, Shiv and Jalen, 2 brothers Mahesh Patel and Rajesh Patel, 2 sisters Jyostnaben Patel and Kamlaben Patel, as well as several nieces and nephews, including Hiren Patel, 27 of Monroe NJ, whom she raised and considered a child of her own.

The family would also like to express sincere gratitude to the entire staff at AristaCare Cedar Oaks in South Plainfield NJ for their dedication and effort in providing quality care, comfort and hospitality over the past few months.

A time of gathering will be held in Thursday July 6, 2017 at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick NJ from 1pm - 3pm with cremation services to follow immediately after.
