Milton J. Novak Jr., of Milltown, passed away Thanksgiving morning at home on November 25, 2021. He was 89. Born in South River, he's lived in Milltown for the past 65 years.
Milt served in the United States Airforce during the Korean War. He received his bachelor degree in Engineering from Virginia Military Institute.
Milt retired in 1998 as an environmental engineer from Schering Plough in Chatham. Previously he had worked for Mobile Chemical in Plainfield and Dupont in Sayreville.
He enjoyed collecting stamps, coins and limited edition Carrousel Horses (#74) from Seaside Heights.
He's predeceased by his daughter Cindy Lou Maynard (d. 2018), his son Douglas Novak (d. 1958) and his granddaughter Janae West.
Surviving is his devoted wife of 67 years, Ruth (Schork) Novak; his daughters Debbie Novak of Williamstown, NJ and Sherri Monticchio, and her husband Rich, of Punta Gorda, FL; his son-in-law Mark Maynard of Horseheads, NY; his grandchildren – Douglas, Kyle and Jeffrey West, David and Michael Monticchio, and William, Kristopher and Rebekka Brown, and his great grandchildren Erik and Phaedra West.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 11th, 12:30 pm, at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N. Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. Friends and relatives may call from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Milltown Rescue Squad, POB 308, Milltown, NJ 08850.
