Michael W. Urban, Jr., formerly of East Windsor, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Sunday, November 14th, 2021 at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home at Menlo Park. He was 72.
Born on a US Naval Base in Patuxent River, MD., he grew up in Clark NJ, then resided in North Brunswick for several years before moving to East Windsor in 1998.
He served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War 67-68, assigned to 81mm mortars with H&S Company 1st Battalion 26th Marine Regiment. He was a lifelong member of the VFW 5700 in Hightstown and the American Legion Post 148 in East Windsor. He also was a member of the Disabled Veterans, the Khe Sanh Veterans and Vietnam Combat Veteran Coalition.
Mike was a custodian for South Brunswick High School, retiring in 2008. Previously he worked for Union County College, and was a machinist for Wadell Chemical in Clark.
Mike loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Shot & Feather's Gun Club in Keyport.
He's predeceased by his wife Alice (Provaznik) Urban (d. 2012); his father Michael Urban Sr. (d. 1999), his mother Mary (Medwick) Urban (d. 2020) and his brother Kenneth Urban (d. 1969).
Surviving is his stepdaughter Wendy Krushinski and her husband Doug, of Somerset; his stepson George Stilwell, and his wife Felicia, of North Brunswick; and his 6 grandchildren George, Anthony, Michael & Stephanie Stilwell and Ashley and Ryan Krushinski.
A Memorial Blessing with Military Honors will be held on Monday, November 22nd, 11:30 am sharp at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 North Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown.
