May M. Chin

May 29, 1949 — January 21, 2025

Milltown

May Moy Chin, age 75, of Milltown, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Full of compassion, humility and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her with her enduring kindness and inner strength.

Born on May 29, 1949, in Taishon, China, May first came to America in 1967. May and her devoted husband Wing of 57 years moved to Milltown in 1974 and created a loving home with their four daughters. Her children were blessed by her innovative spirit to try new hobbies; she found joy in cooking and baking, sewing and reading. Her greatest joy was having her home filled with laughter and her family gathered to share a meal. She was someone with few words, but when she spoke it carried incredible weight and reflected keen insight.

May worked as a library assistant at Mabel Smith Douglas Library of Rutgers University for over 25 years where she cherished the rich academic community of students and staff. She also worked diligently as a licensed real estate agent in East Brunswick, NJ. In 2007, May retired to spend more time with her children and grandchildren.

An active member of The First Baptist Church of New Brunswick, NJ where she and her family attended, May enjoyed giving back to her community by serving faithfully in the women’s and children’s ministries. May’s life was a tapestry woven with love, family tradition, and happiness. Her indomitable spirit and unwavering dedication to her family will forever be remembered and celebrated by all whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her loving husband Wing; her devoted daughters, Wendy Adams (John), Kathleen Gonsalves (Raymond), Janet Chen (Albert), and Elizabeth Yee (Rick); and grandchildren, Benjamin, Abigail, Andrew, Hannah, Katie May, Maxwell, and Zander. She is also survived by her mother, Kam Yuk Moy; her brothers Wing Chung Moy (Siu), Sam Ming Moy (Alice), and Si-Yuen Moy (Shu-Chun); and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Kwok Chu Moy and sister, Cecilia Moy.

Visitation will be held at The Crabiel Home for Funerals in Milltown, NJ, on February 6, from 4 PM to 7 PM. There will be a funeral service on February 7th at the same location commencing at 10 AM. May will be interred at Cypress Hills Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY, on February 7 at 12:30 PM.
