Mario Starace, of Linden, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020 at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 84.
Born in Vico Equense, Naples, Italy, he was one of 8 children. He came to the United States in 1963, and lived in Elizabeth before moving to Linden 47 years ago.
Before retiring he worked for Jiffy Products in Somerset for over 20 years. He was a member of the Ribera Club in Elizabeth.
Mario's pastime was playing cards with his friends and family. He loved horse racing "In Front", and telling stories and jokes. He he loved dancing and especially with his daughter.
He's predeceased by his wife Francesca (Priolo) Starace (d. 2015); his parents Salvatore and Maria Theresa Starace and his siblings.
Surviving is his son and daughter-in-law Salvatore and Stepheny Starace of Branchburg; his daughter Theresa Mennella and her boyfriend Peter Fassi of East Brunswick; his grandchildren Mario and Sophia Starace, Michael Mennella, and Gerard and his wife Autumn Mennella; and his great granddaughter Luna Mennella.
A Blessing will be private on Monday, April 20th at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. Entombment will be at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden. You may sign the online condolence "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com
