Marie R. Nadeau

Marie R. Nadeau, our loving and caring mom, peacefully passed away on October 17, 2023, at her residence. She was surrounded by her beloved family, bringing comfort and warmth in her final moments. Marie touched the lives of those around her with her kindness, compassion and sense of humor.
Born on August 26, 1926, Marie was the daughter of Rosa Maria (Amaturo) and Matteo Cavallo. She grew up alongside her brothers Anthony, James, Rocco, Matthew and sisters Anna and Anne. Marie met her husband Lee Nadeau in Staten Island, NY while both working at Woolworths. Together they moved to Piscataway Township in 1954. They were blessed with seven beautiful children.
During her professional career, Marie worked in accounting at Woolworths and eventually at IEEE in Piscataway. She worked at Koba Corp. in Middlesex during her last 20 years of employment.
Outside of work, Marie found joy in cooking, gardening, and family. In addition, she loved to go to the Ocean Grove boardwalk, listen to the music under the Gazebo, watch the kites fly, dine at Sea Grass restaurant, and of course, stop for ice cream soon after.
Marie's proudest accomplishments revolved around her role as a devoted mother and raising seven children within their Piscataway home. Her unwavering love and guidance earned her the esteemed Best Mom Award of Piscataway.
Marie's legacy of devotion and care will forever be ingrained in the lives of her daughters Mary Lee (Tom) Barkauskas, Elizabeth (Louis) Braun, Maria 'Judy' Nadeau, Rosemarie (Ernest Ehrhardt) Nadeau, and sons William Nadeau, Matthew Lee Nadeau and Lee Otto Nadeau Jr. her brother Matthew Cavallo Jr., numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, as well as cousins.
