Maria J. Johnson, of East Brunswick, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Care One in Perth Amboy. She was 93.
Born and raised in Eijsden, Holland, she was a war bride during WWII. She met her husband Henry when the United States drove the Germans out of Holland. She came to the United States in 1946.
Maria worked in the dietary department at Perth Amboy General Hospital, retiring in 1974. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading and coloring. She loved her lottery scratch offs, and especially loved dogs.
She's predeceased by her husband Henry Johnson (d. 1998), and her grandson Jeffrey Johnson (d. 2003).
Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law Johnny and Mary Ann Johnson of Little Egg Harbor; her son Robert Johnson, and his girlfriend Tina Jin, of Edison; her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and James Catalano of Fords; her daughter-in-law Wilhelmina Johnson of Manalapan; and her grandson Jonathan Johnson of Little Egg Harbor.
