Lydia Schramm, of North Brunswick, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026 at home. She was 86. Born in Belarus, she came to the United States in 1952. She resided in South River for most her life, before moving to North Brunswick in 1989.

She was a clerical administrator for Canon in Cranbury before retiring.

Lydia dedicated her life to her husband. She stood by her daughter and son, to help raise her grandchildren, attending soccer and football games, and always ensuring home cooked meals. She was the primary caretaker of her mom and dad as they aged until their passing. She always sacrificed herself, putting everyone else first. She was a true matriarch of the family.

She is predeceased by her parents Nikas and Stefania (Hawrilenko) Miranowic.

Surviving is her loving husband of 62 years, Ernest Schramm; her daughter Diana Lombardo, and her fiancée, Ralph Montana, of Manchester NJ; her son Ernest Schramm, and his wife, Roslyn, of East Brunswick; her brother John Miranowic of Spotswood, and her grandchildren Ernest Schramm Jr, Christina Barnes, and Karissa Souder.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 24th, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A Funeral Service will take place during the visitation at 2:45 pm.
