Lois H. Schmidt

Lois Schmidt, of Milltown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in East Brunswick. She was 92.  Born in Edison, she graduated from Highland Park High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. She has lived in Milltown for the past 57 years.

Before retiring she was a real estate broker for Middlesex Realty.  Lois was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Milltown.  She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, gardening, being on her iPad and crocheting.  Most of all she loved being with her family.

She’s predeceased by her loving husband Joseph E. Schmidt (d. 2020); her parents Theodore and Katherine Manhire; her siblings and their spouses, Theodore and Norma Manhire, Katherine and Alfred Williamson, Frances and Paul Kish, John and Josephine Manhire, Helen and Chuck Borchert; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Patrice Schmidt and B. James Schmidt; and many nieces and nephews.

Surviving are her loving children and their spouses, Katherine and Dr. Joseph Zullo of Fredericksburg, TX, Theresa and Pete Clark of Somerset, Joseph B. and Maureen Schmidt of Milltown, David and Emily Schmidt of Annandale, Andrew Schmidt of East Brunswick, and Patricia and Robert Greene of East Brunswick.  Also surviving are Lois’s beloved grandchildren Peter (MaryEllen,) Patty (John,) Katie, Amanda, Shannon (Eddie,) Jenny, and Sarah (Tyler); and her great-grandchildren Mari, Christian, Caden, Dylan, Noah, Elena, baby Adams and baby Clark.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 16^th, 10:00 am, at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Milltown.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park in East Brunswick.  Friends and relatives may visit on Sunday from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown, NJ 08850.  You may send condolences to the “guestbook” at www.crabiel.com   In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church.
