Khalil Azar

Khalil Azar, of Kendall Park, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2026, at St. Peters Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 87 years old. Born in Mrijat Lebanon, he came to the United States in 1986.

In Lebanon he was a Lebanese Customs Lieutenant. After moving to New Jersey he was a taxi driver until he retired.

Khalil loved playing card games such as poker, Remi and bridge. He enjoyed dancing Dabka, cigarettes,and cowboy movies, especially Tombstone.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife Angele (Shehade) Azar.

Surviving are his children Tony Azar (Ghada) of Ottawa Canada, Therese Baradhi (Fouad) of North Brunswick, Mireille Azar of North Brunswick, Marcel Azar (Micheline) of North Brunswick and Mario Azar (Michelle) of South Dakota; his grandchildren, Rose Baradhi-Masaad, Joseph Baradhi, George Baazak, Andrew Azar, Amanda Azar, Michael Baradhi, Sharbel Azar, Zechariah Azar, Sharbel Azar and George Azar; and four great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass for the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 11:00 am, at St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church in Somerset. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway. A Visitation for family and friends will be held at St. Sharbel on Tuesday, 9:30 am – 10:45 am, before the Mass.
