Keith K. Wong, formerly of Milltown NJ, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020, from COVID, at his son Ed's home in Philadelphia. He was 91.
Born in Hong Kong, he came to the United States in 1953. He lived in Memphis TN , Boston MA, and Bloomfield NJ, moving to Milltown in 1969. He relocated to Philadelphia three years ago.
Mr. Wong was a biochemist, spending a long career in the Pharmaceutical industry specializing in Drug Metabolism. He worked with Schering, ER Squibb and finally Carter Wallace in Cranbury NJ before he retired. He has a PhD in biochemistry from NYU, an MBA from Monmouth College , and a BS from Rhodes College (SouthWestern at Memphis).
Mr Wong was active in the Boy Scout Troop 33 as an Assistant Scoutmaster. He was an avid tennis player, organizing many groups of players in the area. In particular, he managed and organized the Chinese American Cultural Association (CACA) Tennis club.
In addition, Mr Wong was an avid classical music fan attending numerous concerts and operas, and an avid amateur photographer.
He is predeceased by his wife May-Yuen Wong who passed away in July 2020.
Surviving is his son Edmund Wong, and daughter in law Dr. Kathleen King, his grandchildren Keith and Sarah of Philadelphia; his daughter Amy Wong of Philadelphia; and his sister Rebecca Tong of Auckland NZ.
