Kate Schwartzberg, of Long Branch, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Monmouth Medical Center. She was 90.
Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Long Island, Somerset and East Brunswick, before moving to Long Branch 3 years ago.
Kate was a bookkeeper for Diener Hauser Bates Co. in NYC, before retiring. Previously she had worked in the emergency room admitting department at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick. She was a volunteer at the NYC Opera & Ballet at Lincoln Center, and for the Metropolitan Opera House.
The matriarch, ultimate caregiver and fashionista of the family, Kate enjoyed cooking, the theater, reading, exercising, politics and traveling.
She's predeceased by her husband Edward Schwartzberg (d. 1995), and her son Mark Schwartzberg (d. 1994).
Surviving is her daughter Leslie Feldman of Long Branch; her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Teresa Schwartzberg of Oakland, ME; her sister Blanche Kaplan of Shrewsbury; her brother Arthur Krasinsky of Marlboro; and her granddaughters Mollie, Amy, Rachel and Anna.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 13th, 10:00 am, at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown.
