Joseph F. Torre

Joseph F. Torre, of Egg Harbor Twp., passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at AtlantiCare Specialized Hospital in Atlantic City, surrounded by loved ones. He was 65. He was born in Montreal, Quebec Canada, and raised in New Brunswick and North Brunswick. He lived in Milltown, Maryland, and Long Beach Island, before moving to Egg Harbor several years ago.

He served in the United States Army, 1st Infantry Division, from 1976 to 1978 as a Power Equipment Operator. After his time in the military, he worked in construction and auto mechanics. Most recently he worked for the Won Door Corporation, responsible for Northeast Installations through the tri-state area before an unfortunate injury that resulted in early retirement.

Joe received a black belt in martial arts. He was a gold medal winner in Taekwondo, competing in Australia, Mexico, and Jamaica.

Surviving is his wife, Margaret Ferra; his children Melissa Lynn Torre of Philadelphia, Michael J. Torre of Long Beach CA, Sarah Fae Torre of Stuart FL, Nicholas Francis Torre (Jillian Schweizer) of Helmetta and Thomas Jacob Torre of Hillsborough; his grandson Ember Leo and his brother John Torre of North Brunswick. His passing was preceded by his parents, Joseph Victor and Jennie Marie (Schepis) Torre of North Brunswick, and his oldest son, Joseph Patrick Torre

A Memorial Gathering for family and friends, will take place on Saturday, June 29th, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A Blessing will occur during the visitation at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, we ask for people to take the time to watch “The Wisdom of Trauma” featuring Dr. Gabor Mate.
