Joseph R Marascio

February 3, 1939 — January 17, 2024

North Brunswick

Joseph R Marascio, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 17, 2024. Born on February 3, 1939, in North Brunswick, Joseph lived by the powers of: love, will, giving, listening, smiling, belief and faith, and the power being grateful gives you. He had an unwavering love for his family and the community.

Joseph began his career at the tender age of 16 when he landed his first job as a barber. His warm personality made him a favorite amongst his customers. Joseph continued working as a barber until 1972 when he transitioned into a salesman role at Benedetti Oldsmobile in New Brunswick NJ. His natural gift for sales lead him to top salesman awards and the privilege to bring home different cars to use.

Later on, Joseph embarked on a new chapter in his career selling Olivetti computers. He would embrace the ever evolving world of technology, and adopted seamlessly to his new position…. expanding his horizons, he would later become a top salesman in the surgical implant industry…. However, it was Joseph’s next job at North Brunswick Public Works that truly defined his unwavering commitment. For over 25 years, Joseph dedicated himself to serving the community he loved, and would become the chaplain for the public works department until his well-deserved retirement in 2005

Education played an integral part in Joseph's life. He graduated from New Brunswick High School and would go on to study both “metaphysical” & “spiritual” worlds. He lived a lifetime of learning and growth.

Beyond his professional achievements lies the essence of who Joseph truly was - a loving family man and a beacon of strength for those around him. He cherished every moment spent with his wife Kathleen Marascio and their children. Joseph's proudest accomplishment in life was undoubtedly raising successful children who are a testament to his unwavering support and guidance. He was a true example of a man who focused on building friendships.

Joseph had many interests that brought joy to his life. He had an innate ability to captivate an audience with his words as a skilled public speaker. He was a life coach and lifted people. His love for writing and poetry allowed him to express heartfelt emotions that resonated with many. Joseph's talents extended to music, where he showcased his rhythmic prowess as a phenomenal drummer.  Joseph could teach the art of boxing.  Additionally, he had a flair for the dramatic and enjoyed the occasional acting role.

He was a proud grandfather to Krys Marascio, Elia Fama, Sara Herner, Anastasia Skirka, Raphael Marascio, Bella Marascio, Benny Marascio, and Mia Marascio.
