Psalms 23: 1-4 "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."
Mr. Joseph John was born on September 29, 1938 to Joseph and Rachel Mathai, Neliyanikal House (Karamelil), Nellimala, Kerala, India. He was called to his heavenly abode on September 3, 2018. He was 79.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Annamarie (Varghese) John; his son and daughter-in-law Rajeev and Smita John of Piscataway; his daughters and son-in-law's Rita (Somi) and Biju Jacob of India and Reena John and Stacey Steel of Plainfield; 7 grandchildren – Sherin and husband Jobin, Benedict, Christine, Neha, Nisha, Sohmie & husband Anthony, Kamal, and great grandchild, Carson. Mr. John is also survived by his sisters, Saramma and Kunjamma. He is preceded by his late brother, Mathai (Kunjuchen).
He worked in the government health service as a supervisor in health centers in Madhyapradesh, India for 25 years before immigrating to the United States in
1988. He was a member of the St. Stephen's Mar Thoma Church in East Brunswick.
Joseph was loved and respected by all those that knew him. He will be missed by his family, friends and church members. We know that he is with our Lord and resting in peace. He loved the Lord with all his heart and will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will take place, Friday, September 7, 2018, 10:00 am, at Saint Stephen's Mar Thoma Church, Dunham's Corner Rd, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Lake Nelson Memorial Park in Piscataway. Friends and relatives may come to the visitation at the church on Thursday from 5:00 - 9:30 PM.
