John M. Simmons, 62, of Harrison, Maine, passed away suddenly while visiting family in New Jersey. Born in Taunton, Massachusetts, he lived in Rehoboth, MA, before moving to Harrison six years ago.
A lifelong builder, John enjoyed building things, especially for his grandchildren, and was an active member of the Gun Club and the Friendly Riders in Harrison. He was predeceased by his father, Richard Simmons, and his brother, Richard Simmons Jr.
John is survived by his life partner, Susan Sullivan; his son, John B. Simmons and his wife, Nadja, of Norton, MA; his daughter, Caroline Simmons of Rehoboth, MA; his mother, Barbara (McElroy) Simmons of Dighton, MA; his stepchildren, Sean Sullivan and his wife, Linley, of Milltown and Mark Sullivan and his husband, Heath, of Florida; and his grandchildren, Luke Simmons and Daniel and Connor Sullivan. He also leaves behind his brother, Christopher Simmons of Dighton, MA; and his sisters, Barbara Sullivan of Dighton, MA, Anne Prescottano of Bourne MA, and Susan Brown of Harrison, ME.
