John F. Martin, of Milltown, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 87.
Born and raised in the Green Village section of Morristown, he lived in Chatham before moving to Milltown 55 years ago.
John served in the United States Airforce during the Korean War. Before joining the Airforce he was a minor league baseball player.
He was a pipe fittings salesman for Industrial Pipes Supply Co. in Middlesex, before retiring.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Milltown; a member of the American Legion Post 25 in Milltown; and a former Milltown Democratic Committeeman. He enjoyed golfing and was a St. Louis Cardinal's fan.
John was a wonderful, warm and fun loving father and grandfather.
He's predeceased by his wife Eileen (Kenny) Martin (d. 1986), his 2nd wife Joan Martin (d. 2016), and his son Jack Martin (d. 2012).
Surviving is his daughter and son-in-law, Laurel and Dave Milicia of Edison; his son Kenneth Martin and his girlfriend Dawn Stolte, of North Brunswick; his daughter-in-law Anna Martin of Milltown; his grandchildren Eileen and Kyle Milicia of Edison, David Milicia Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC, John Martin of Sayreville and Caitlyn Martin of Milltown; and his great grandson Myles Milicia.
Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, July 26th, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A Blessing and AirForce Honor Guard will be held during the visitation at 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors, www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
