John J. "Mac" McElhaney, of Monroe Township, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Merwick Rehab Center in Plainsboro. He was 64.
Born in New Brunswick, he lived in Somerset, Milltown and Pine Beach before moving to Monroe last year.
Mac worked for the Middlesex County Parks Department for many years, retiring in 2009. He was an avid drag racer and enjoyed racing RC cars.
He's predeceased by his daughter Kerry McElhaney (d. 2019), his father John McElhaney, and his step-father Casper Piersanti.
Surviving is his wife Eileen (Gilhooly) McElhaney; his son and daughter-in-law John and Lindsay McElhaney of Helmetta; his grandson Connor; his mother Patricia (Moore) Piersanti of Somerset; his brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Cornelia Piersanti of Stockton; his sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Christopher Gioe of Hillsborough; and numerous nieces and nephews who adored him.
Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday, October 6th, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown.
