John Anton, of Monroe Twp., passed away after a long illness, on Monday, December 30, 2019, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 66.
Born in Chania, Greece, he came to the United States in 1955. He lived in New Brunswick, Highland Park, Edison and East Brunswick before recently moving to Monroe Township.
John worked for Cardinal Health Care in Edison before retiring. He was a fan of the Yankees, Jets and Nets. He enjoyed going to Greece, Wildwood and Point Pleasant shores. John also loved a good meal and spending time with his family.
Surviving is his wife Glenda (Brown) Anton; his son Michael Anton of Metuchen and daughter Stephanie Anton of Monroe Twp; his mother Irene (Marinakis) Antonakakis of Edison; his brothers Gus Antonakakis of Edison and Joseph Antonakakis of Holmdel; and his sisters Vicky Gerometta of Milltown and Helen Apostolakis of North Brunswick. He will be dearly missed by his dog Archie.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 4th, 2020, from 9:00 – 10:00 am at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1101 River Road, Piscataway, NJ. A Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 am at St. George. Burial will be at Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. George Memorial Fund in memory of John Anton.
