Joan (Gaunt) Horvath, of Old Bridge, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. She was 52. Born in Red Bank, she was raised in Milltown before moving to Old Bridge in 1996.
Joan currently was a Bus Aide for special needs children, through the Old Bridge Board of Education. She was beloved by all and devoted to the special needs children that she helped.
Joan was a stay at home mom for eight years, and became a barista at Starbucks in Old Bridge where she worked for several years before going to work for Old Bridge Township.
She loved cooking and being there for her friends and family. She was a dedicated Giants and Yankee fan, passionate music lover, and loved nature, camping and bird watching.
She's predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary Kathleen (Mehm) Gaunt.
Surviving is her husband Robert S. Horvath; her son Pvt. 1st Class Jarod Horvath; her brothers Thomas Gaunt of Old Bridge, and Michael Gaunt of Lawrenceville; her sisters Karen Gaunt-Lewis of Lambertville, Beth Gzemski of Mountaintop, PA, and her twin sister Joyce DiChaiaro of Milltown; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 7th, 10:00 am, at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in North Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call on Friday, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
