Jean Potter (nee Booream), 96, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Parker@Monroe after a long illness. Born September 7, 1922, she was a lifelong resident of Milltown.
Jean graduated from New Brunswick High School and The Berkeley School in East Orange, New Jersey. She was retired from Rutgers University where she had been an executive secretary for over 20 years.
Jean was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Milltown and also the Milltown Senior Citizens. She had been actively involved in the NBHS Class of 1940 reunion committee. She was an avid card player who especially loved to play bridge. Her husband used to joke that if she were lying in her casket & someone said, "Jean, do you wanna play bridge?", she'd sit up and say "Sure! Where?" We'll be putting that theory to the test.
She is predeceased by her husband, Bob Potter, who died in 2003; her daughter, Peg Wojtal; her parents, William V. and Ingeborg (Helen) Booream; her sister, Carolyn Suydam; and her brother, William V. Booream Jr.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Ward and her husband, Tom; her grandchildren, Susan Harmon (Chris), Jenn Gabriel, Eileen Yasutis (Brian), and Larry Ward (Donna); six great-grandchildren, Ryan, Brendan, Matthew, Juliet, Anthony, and Adam; her son-in-law, Tom Wojtal; and her brother, Robert Booream and several nieces and nephews.
