Jayasankar Appukuttan Nair

Jayasankar Appukuttan Nair (Jay Nair), of Hillsborough, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. He was 73.

Jay Nair retired in 2020, as CEO of Sabinsa Corporation. Previously he held several positions including AGM State Bank of India, South-India Head of Centurion Bank and IndusInd Bank, and CEO of Muthoot Royal Exchange, USA.

A passionate music virtuoso, he loved singing Indian film and classical songs and captivated audiences with his performances and knowledge of music. He was a Kerala Arts connoisseur and a Past President of Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rani Somavathy, working at Franklin Township Board of Education, his daughter Parvathy Sankar - Managing Director of Mindset Consulting in India, his son-in-law Manohar Sreekanth - Partner & CTO of Sattva Consulting in India, his daughter Lakshmi Sankar - Principal Consultant at PA Consulting, his grandson Rishikesh Nayar - freshman at UC Berkeley, and his brother Damodaran Nair - Professor (HAG) of IIM Bangalore.

Pooja services will be held Monday, January 3rd, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. Cremation will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. You may sign the online condolence "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com
