Jasodaben J. Patel

Jasodaben J. Patel, of Edison, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2019, in Piscataway, NJ. Although her family was from Sarsa (Gujarat, India), they lived in Kheda (Gujarat, India) to be closer to their farmland. Later in her life, she married Jayantibhai Patel and moved to Pij (Gujarat, India). The young couple lived in various cities around Gujarat due to Jayantibhai's job with Gujarat Electric Board. Eventually, Jasodaben and her family came to the United States in 1983. She originally lived in Maryland with her sister before settling in Piscataway, NJ, with the rest of her family. There, she found a job working at Parkway Plastics where she completed 22 years of service. Jasodaben lived most of her life in Piscataway before moving to Edison 7 years ago.


Jasodaben enjoyed reading Mahabharata and Ramayan stories.


She's predeceased by her husband Jayantibhai Patel (d. 1994), her son Nilesh Patel (d. 2006), and her son-in-law Nilesh Desai (d. 2014).


Surviving are her son & daughter-in-law Umesh Patel & Sangita Patel of Edison, NJ; her daughter-in-law Monika Patel of Piscataway, NJ, her daughters Varsha Desai of Charleston, SC, and Niranja Patel of Edison, NJ; her siblings: Natubhai Patel of NJ, Amrut Patel of MD, Harshad Patel of PA, Tara Patel of India and Prafula Patel of MD; and her six grandchildren Karan Desai, Jigesh Patel, Nihal N. Desai, Kinjal Patel, Rishi Patel and Rohan Patel.


Pooja services and visitation will be held Monday, from 9:00 – 11:00 am at Franklin Memorial Park Crematory, Rt. 27 & Cozzens Lane, North Brunswick.
