Janice Carmean-Johnson

Janice Carmean-Johnson passed away on April 2nd, 2023, at the age of 77. Janice was born in The Bronx, New York and lived most of her life in Somerset and Highland Park, New Jersey. Janice received her Bachelor's degree in Special Education from Jersey City State College and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Rider University. She worked for many years as a math teacher at Bonnie Brae Residential School for Boys.

Janice had many interests including painting, basket making and stained glass work.  She was a member of The Travelers’ Club, and the Sterling Pointe Book Club and traveled extensively throughout the United States, visiting all but 3 of the states. 

Janice is survived by her children, Matthew Johnson (Yasmine) of Los Angeles and Sherry Johnson of Somerset, and her grandchildren, Kailey, Nicolas, Maverick, and Malalai Johnson.

She is also survived by her brothers Allen and Arther Carmean as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Graveside service, for the family, will take place on April 4th, 2023, at Elmwood Cemetery North Brunswick. The Crabiel Home for Funerals are handling funeral arrangements.
