Janet L. Visokay

Janet L. Visokay, a lifelong resident of Milltown, New Jersey, passed away a week after her daughter Sheryl, on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune. She was 89 years old.

Born in New Brunswick, she lived in Milltown all of her life. Janet possessed a vibrant spirit and was known as a go getter with a strong personality. She, and her late husband Joe, loved traveling to Colonial Williamsburg. She loved to decorate her house with antiques, turning it into a warm and welcoming home, and enjoyed going shopping, activities that brought her joy and enlivened her daily life.  Janet was a lifetime member of the Milltown Fire Department Ladies Auxiliaty.

Janet L. Visokay’s steadfast nature and affectionate heart made a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her contributions at work, her love of home decoration, and her enduring dedication to family will be forever remembered with respect and admiration. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a woman of strength and grace.

Janet was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Visokay (d. 2013) and her daughter, Sheryl Visokay, who departed on May 4th, 2026.

She is survived by her grandson, Trevor Visokay, and his spouse, Angie, of Howell; her two great-grandchildren Violet and Joseph Visokay, and her loving cat Chanel.

Family and friends may come to a Visitation for both Janet and Sheryl, on Tuesday, May 12th, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at The Crabiel Home For Funerals located at 170 North Main Street - at Riva Avenue, Milltown, NJ 08850. On Wednesday, there will be a final viewing at 10:30 am at the funeral home, followed by a Graveside service, 11:30 am, at Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick
