Jane E. Dooley

July 6, 1943 — November 29, 2025

Montclair & Marco Island, FL

Jane Ellen Dooley, born July 6, 1943 in Montclair, New Jersey, entered eternal rest on November 29, 2025, in Marco Island, Florida, where she had lived with her beloved husband, Frank Dooley, since 2000. Jane and Frank were married for 52 years, sharing a life rooted in faith, steadiness, and deep devotion.

Jane graduated from Katherine Gibbs School and spent her early career as an executive secretary at Dodge-Chrysler while lovingly raising her daughter Wendy from a prior marriage. After Jane and Frank married, they nurtured their blended family of Wendy and Frank’s two daughters, Karen and Kathy, creating a home grounded in care, stability, and commitment. Once the girls were grown and off to college, Jane returned to the workforce and worked for 15 years at AT&T prior to her retirement.

Jane was also a committed volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in Collier County, giving many years of service to a cause she believed in wholeheartedly. As a Child of God, her faith was central to her life. As a dedicated member of Marco Presbyterian Church, she supported missions, studied the Bible faithfully, and lived out her beliefs with quiet conviction and grace.

She was known for her big heart, generosity, kindness, and fierce loyalty. Jane poured her talent for knitting into the Prayer Shawl Ministry, creating beautiful shawls with care and purpose. Jane also loved traveling with Frank, taking daily walks, supporting church work, and approaching life with intention and a perfectionist’s touch — always wanting to do things thoughtfully and well.

Jane was predeceased by her parents, Stanton Small and Helen Drake, and by her sister, Grace Blauvelt. She is survived by her husband Frank Dooley; her daughter Wendy Hoyt (Rich) of West Windsor; her stepdaughters Karen Yanchurak (Gene) of North Brunswick and Kathy DeCoursey (Sean) of Bradley Beach; her grandson John Yanchurak (Jaiden); her lifelong friend Flo Gannon; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews in Maine.

Jane’s legacy is one of generosity, devotion, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved her.
