Ja'Nae Daniel

Ja’Nae Daniel was born on July 23, 1986 to Clifford Ricardo and Eulene Shirrell Daniel, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She transitioned on October 22, 2024 at JFK Hackensack Meridian Hospital, Edison, NJ. She was 38 years old.

Ja’Nae was educated in the Piscataway Public School system where she graduated from Piscataway High School in 2004. She also attended Middlesex County College. At the time of her transition she was employed by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey as a Senior HR Payroll Shared Services Specialist.

Ja’Nae converted to Islam in 2021. She took her conversion seriously and was devoted in learning all that she could to become a good Muslimah.

Ja’Nae was a loving mother, sister, aunt and niece. She wore her heart on her sleeve and never held back how she felt. Her entire life was devoted to her baby boy Messiah. Family was extremely important to her. She always took the time to keep in contact with as many relatives as she could and never ended a phone call without letting you know that she loved you. She enjoyed music and was a foodie. She was always willing to try new foods. She liked going to flea markets and enjoyed a good game of spades. Ja’Nae was a hard nut to crack, but once you got it open, she was kind, loving and generous.

Ja’Nae was predeceased by her mother Eulene Shirrell Daniel; father, Clifford Ricardo Daniel, maternal grandparents Richard and Annie Pearl Saunders; paternal grandfather, Guy E. Daniel; and uncle Gary Ogayar.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Messiah Gibbs, sisters, Cheyanne Daniel Milagros Daniel, Shamira May and Kathleen Saunders; grandmother, Edna Dorothy Cardy-Daniel; uncles Richard Saunders (Tanya), Ray Saunders, Aziz Muhammad and Michael Saunders (Erycka); aunts Carol Saunders, Yvonne Daniel and Lisa May; nephew Marcel Cooper and a host of cousins and friends.
