Jamil Kassouf, affectionately known as Jimmy, from North Brunswick, slept in the Lord on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick at the age of 69. Originally hailing from Zahle, Lebanon, he immigrated to the United States in 1982, initially settling in Brooklyn before making North Brunswick his home 35 years ago.
Jimmy was the proud proprietor of Jimmy’s Grill & Pizza in New Brunswick for 26 years before retiring. A devout member of St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church in Somerset, he was renowned for his affable nature and enjoyed engaging with both customers and strangers alike. His kindness and generosity were well-known to all who crossed his path, as he gave from the depths of his heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Georges and Chafica (Riachi) Kassouf. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife Abby (Reiter) Kassouf, his daughter Nicole Kassouf (Yousef Yousef) of Somerset, and his children in Zahle, Lebanon: Elias, Bechara, and Jessica. He is also survived by his sister Najwa Kassouf, his brother Jean Kassouf (Amal) of North Brunswick, his cherished granddaughters Grace and Farah, and his nieces and nephews Angela, George, Jimmy, and Peter.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, February 9th, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, located at 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown.
A Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church, 256 Easton Avenue, Somerset, followed by entombment at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Sharbel Church, 14 Reeve Street, Somerset NJ 08873.
