James J. Rispoli, Jr.

North Brunswick

James J. Rispoli Jr., of North Brunswick, passed away on January 11, 2025 at St. Peter’s University Hospital. ]. He was 74 years old. Born in New Brunswick, Jim was raised in North Brunswick and later lived in New Brunswick before returning back to North Brunswick. For the past 10 months, he had resided in the Rossmoor section of Monroe Township.

Jim worked for the Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex County, where he began his career in the Probation Department while attending law school. Over the years, he served in various roles, including Assistant Division Manager of the Special Civil Part, promoted to Division Manager of the Civil Division, and Chief of Probation, retiring in 2007. He was a respected figure in the judiciary, representing the Middlesex Civil Division at the state level and contributing to numerous committees and workgroups.

In addition to his professional achievements, Jim had a deep passion for his community. He served as a member of the Middlesex County Mental Health Board and was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. Jim loved to entertain, particularly enjoying moments spent with his mother and her sisters, whom he had claimed to be the Golden Girls. He delighted in cooking, woodworking, and hosting Christmas gatherings. His family especially cherished the hand-painted decorative gifts he would create, which were always filled with love and personal touches.

Jim’s playful nature and quick wit were paramount to his personality. He loved to joke and tease, always with a mischievous smile, and could light up any room with his infectious humor. He had a unique ability to make those around him laugh, and he will be deeply missed for his light-hearted spirit.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, James J. Rispoli Sr. and Catherine (Bakos) Rispoli, and his brother-in-law Norman Carina, Sr. He is survived by his sister Pauline Carina of Milltown; his nieces and nephew, Kathleen Conger (Jeffrey) of Lavallette, Norman Carina Jr. of Old Bridge, and Karen Burke (Leroy) of Spotswood; his goddaughter Brittany Bray of Frenchtown; four grandnieces and nephews; three great-grandnieces and nephews; and many extended family members and close friends.

A Blessing will be held on Thursday, January 16th at 11am, at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St. at Riva Avenue, Milltown. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Brunswick. A Visitation for friends and relatives will be held on Wednesday, January 15 th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home
