Helmy M Chackal, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 16, 2023, at the age of 83. He was born in Cairo, Egypt on August 28, 1940. He moved to the United States in 1973, to start a new life with his family. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Helmy was a man of many talents and a true entrepreneur. Throughout his life, he owned and managed various businesses including a hotel, car dealership, and a mechanic shop. His dedication and hard work were evident in every endeavor he pursued. Helmy was well-respected in the community for his integrity and commitment to excellence.
While Helmy's professional achievements were remarkable, it is his warm and loving personality that will be remembered most fondly by those who knew him. He had an infectious smile that could brighten anyone's day. Helmy had a profound love for his family and cherished the moments spent with them above all else.
A dedicated family man, Helmy was blessed with a beautiful wife named Mary, who stood by his side through thick and thin for 56 years. Together, they built a strong foundation of love and support for their children. Helmy is survived by his daughters Ketty Ayoub & her husband Joseph and Terry Chackal. His son Jerry Chackal predeceased him in 2017. Helmy's grandsons Joe and Ziggy brought immense joy to his life, and he treasured every moment he spent with them.
In his free time, Helmy found solace and happiness in spending time in his repair shop with his son Jerry. It was there that he honed his mechanical skills while immersing himself in a hobby that brought him immense satisfaction.
The celebration of Helmy's life will take place on November 20, 2023. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church, located at 526 Easton Avenue, Somerset, NJ, 08873. This will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at the same location. The interment service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, Hoes Ln, Piscataway, NJ, 08854 at 12:30pm.
Helmy M Chackal will forever be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strong work ethic, and his kind-hearted nature. His presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide us.
